Do I need to buy pads with sensors??

Hey so Im due for a pad change in the front of my 2000 Audi a4 2.8Q. My question is do i buy the pads with the sensors or without? I skimmed my manual and it doesnt seem to state anything hmmm

You can get away with pads without sensors but will have to do a patch on the sensor wires to avoid a CEL.

The answer is Yes. If you want your front brake Low Pad Warning function to work you'll need the pads with the sensors.

"IF" being the operative word in this sentence . Obviously visually checking the brake wear is another way to ensure safe operation ...
