Could an exhaust leak cause strong vibrations in idle??

Could an exhaust leak cause strong vibrations in idle??
I have an 01 A4 1.8T Quattro and as the subject line suggests, there's a strong vibration in my car when's it's idling. When I'm accelerating my exhaust has a "loose" sound to it like it's leaking or plugged. The vibration is what I'm trying to solve.

you would know if you had an exhaust leak that was strong enough to vibrate your car i would think.
