Strong Canadian Dollar Leads to Price Reduction...
... for Porsche. Any chance Audi will follow suit?
Porsche Canada announced a major price reduction. Average reductions were about 5% on vehicle MSRPs, and option prices were reduced 16%.

Re: Strong Canadian Dollar Leads to Price Reduction...
Interesting...maybe this would help stop people purchasing their new cars from the US. But I have a feeling that it would be highly unlikely...

By the way purchasing a barely used one could save you 5, 10, 15+k depending on model/options...etc many members have already saved big time getting S4

Re: Strong Canadian Dollar Leads to Price Reduction...
My point was that Audi has no excuse for not lowering their prices. They are already 20-25% greater in Canada than in the US (easy to calculate now that the dollar is at par). The Canadian dollar has appreciated greatly against the Euro, even more so that the US dollar.
If Porsche can make such a bold move, so can Audi.

Amen! Canadian pricing is approaching gouging comparatively. If the American market has access to the pricing seen down there, it must also be realized by Canadian dealers as well. I guess the only option the consumer has is to vote with their feet and take the money elsewhere but that doesn't put you driving an Audi does it? At Canadian pricing, I wouldn't be driving an Audi now. Couldn't afford it! As a non-silver spooner, the extra 10G was a deal breaker at the store in Calgary. Seems to me at least 10% would be more realistic.

[QUOTE=wasteislander;156972]remember 6.1% of the price difference is due to duties...[QUOTE]
Actually, only some of that difference applies, because of course the US also charges duty on foreign imports. I believe the rate is 2.5% in the US, so that leaves 3.6% of the difference.
And how does one account for the difference in freight and PDI? It is $1995.00 for Canada. The destination fee in the US is only $875.00.
