Default Alarm is set off when using remote

I have recently experienced a problem with the car alarm on my 2003 A4. Sometimes (and it's not all the time) when I lock doors with the remote, the alarm keeps sounding. I can lock and unlock a few times - sometimes the alarm shuts off.

I've read other forums where one has decided to just disconnect the wire to the alarm. Doesn't sound like a great idea.

Is this a problem with the battery of in the remote itself? Would replacing the battery in the remote control itself solve the problem OR does one need to do something in the car itself? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey so I've had this problem too and haven't had it fixed yet..
I've heard from a mechanic that it is likely a door sensor that keeps setting it off but he has yet to dig in and check it out.
If you get any updates let me know!
