Hello All,

I got a problem with my alarm in car. When I lock the car it first locks and then immediately sets off the alarm even though all doors and everything is closed! Then I have to keep pressing unlock a few times..after few times unlocking the buzzer stops and car unlocks. Then, when I press lock again, this time it works and locks without setting off alarm. I don't know what is gong on as it is so annoying..I have to sell my car to buy an SUV but with this issue I am sure no one will buy it unless I fix it ...

Could someone suggest if there is anything I can get fixed to resolve this issue? All I want is car should lock without setting off alarm when I lock it. I read somewhere that it has to do something with internal sensor and I can turn off internal sensor.

Any suggestions please? Dealer is asking lot of money just to checkwhats going wrong. I am so frustrated with this car!

 

Where are you located? You should find someone with a vag-com and they can scan it and see what is happening could be a faulty code, but most likely one of the sensors is shot. you will never really know until you scan it.

 

You can turn off the motion sensor, there is a button on the drivers door lower compartment, but you would have to do it every time you exited the car as it resets after you unlock it again. This is just a quick fix of course.

This is just a long shot, but is there anything hanging from your rear view mirror that could be swinging or moving that might set the motion sensor off?

 

I am sorry for the delayed reply. In between I got tied up with going back and forth to the dealer. I had another problem in my car for P R N D signs blinking and turned out to be TCM problem (P07076)...tried to find solutions but eventually had to get it fixed with dealer..cost me $2500

So, now back to my issue of alarm setting off..it still keeps happening. What I have noticed is, most of the time it only happens first time in the day - like when I go to work in the morning and lock my car the alarm sets off.. then during the day I use it couple of times but it doesnt go off!!!

I have spent so much money on this car (close to 7k) in last 4-5 yrs that I am really fed up now..all I want is just turn off this sensor permanently so that I can just lock and unlock my car with remove and I am ok if sensor doesn't work. Can I do that? Can I remove some sensor battery or wire or anything? Or any other advise?

I live in Tampa...if there is any Audi Enthusiast in Tampa he/she would be god send for me!!!!

 

sound like the central convenience control module/vacuum pump.

 

NO go sit in your car look to the left in between the 2 places were your seatbelt goes into the side there is a button there a lil hidden but its there...push it and it will turn off your alarm system but still can lock it and unlock it.

 

hmm..so no way of turning the sensor off permanently?

 

that button doesn't turn off the alarm, just the interior motion sensor

 

That's what I want to do - how to turn off the sensor permanently not the alarm!

 

i have the same frikin problem. usually happens on the first lock when i get to the parking garage at work.
