I am putting on protective coating on my S4 and need to have the washers stay out while i am doing the work. Any ideas on how to keep them out?

I just got my A4 2014 and for the life of me cannot find in the manual how to use the headlight washer. Can you please explain it to me? I read on the internet it has to do with the highbeams on and using the washer as normal is this correct?

They should just activate every few times you activate the windshield washers as long as the headlights are on. I want to say like every 3rd time but not 100% on that.

I've never heard of them being able to stay extended but would it work out for you if you just removed the covers? They are usually just clipped on to the washer jet and are easily (but carefully) removed.
