Please help a guy out.
2009 front wheel drive. Manual tranny. 2.0l gas turbo engine.

Questions:
How do I know what timing belt/water pump to order?
Do I need "special tools" for belt servicing?
What brake pads are recommended for daily driving?
Is there a source for free online owners & service manuals?
I have a problem with HVAC climate control and interior dash lights & cruise control shutting off & re-starting while I drive... any recommendations?

That engine is used in many, many Volkswagons. Any non-dealer VW mechanic should be able to do the job with their eyes closed.

 

Similar problems have been have been tied to the ignition key tumbler on the steering column. Power window and door lock issues can also be symptoms. I believe there is a thread on this site addressing the issue.
