Importing Hartman rims from US
I really want to get some hartman rims for my ibis white 2012 a4 but I would like to know what I am getting into before ordering them up from the states.
Do you get charged duties on the rims and if so how much are you looking at?
Has anyone ordered 19' rims before -would love to hear your story.
And can anyone suggest the best place to get them from if I go that route?
I am in Oakville, Ontario.
Would love to know of any rim and tire places here in Ontario that anyone knows of here and save myself the import headache.

you'll get charged a ton of duty etc. and shipping will be quite a bit higher.
Solution?
Buy them and have them delivered to Monroe Muffler in Niagara Falls, just over the border near the outlet mall. If you need tires, have them delivered there from TireRack.com as well.
Have Monroe install them on your car/balance etc. $100. While they are doing the work, walk over to the outlet mall (10 mins walk) and enjoy some discount shopping.
Drive back over the border and
a) declare your purchase of the wheels at the border. Tax should be 13% of whatever the bill is. Hartmann is a US company right? USA wheels = no duty.
b) just drive back without declaring the wheels you bought. Risky for maybe $70-150 in tax savings...especially considering your other wheels are sitting in the back of your car for them to see.
You save:
a) a ton on tires if you buy tirerack
b) a ton on shipping the wheels and tires since they are just within USA now
c) border brokerage charges on top of excessive shipping charges.
You might save $300 or so dollars on the deal. Go down with an almost empty tank of gas and fill up in Niagara Falls for 25% cheaper than we do here. THat quarter tank of 'free' gas will get you there and back in an A4, so the trip is 'free' from that point of view.
