I am in need of tires soon and I have Yokohama W4s's now and I like them.

Does anyone have input on good all season performance tires?

I am looking at the Yokohama Avid EnVigor 235 45 17 W .

Bridgestone will deflate on winding roads.
Continentals are disaster on snow.
Goodyear well the name should be One Good Year and than you are hydroplaning during rain

Pirellis are for very experienced drivers,they give you some slipping and sliding compared with Michellin.

Get Michellin Pilot and put the rubber on the road!

 

What a load of crap. All of those manufacturers make a range of tires, from crappy to great. Stop posting generalizations based on your anecdotal evidence. There's even like 20 different Michelin Pilots - from garbage All-Seasons to spec race tires

btw Every single brand offer many models to suit everyone's needs but I guess you know better than the professionnals!

We all learned not to take adam seriously everytime he posts. If i have the power i would have banned him cause sadly sometimes the new members take his "advice" as the truth.

 

There is no such thing as the perfect tire. Every one excels in some area and less so in others ...it all depends what you are looking for righ?
For instance Falken 912 are an option but like most they do not excel in rain/cold
Also look into Continental dws
For everyday driving simply stick with any of the listed above and you'll be fine. Usually the softer the compound/rubber the better traction you have at the expense of prematurated wear and how aggressive you drive

Don't worry Halo549, you'll learn to ignore Adamstasiak like everyone else does. He has a reputation of posting BS around the forums.

My personal opinion is that "All Season" and "Performance tire" don't really belong in the same sentence, but there are a few tires that I know do to a resonable job at both jobs... The Eagle GT by Goodyear does a decent job, as well as the Eagle F1 but they are bordering on performance tires and do not offer very good traction in the snow.

My personal favorite "all season" tire is the Michelin Primacy MXV4, not really a performance tire but my god is it comfortable and quiet... decent in the snow, good on the dry, not terrific in the wet.

 

Oh, and for what its worth... I'm running Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's in the summer and 215/55/R16 Gislaved Nordic Frost 5's in the winter.

I absolutely love the Pilot Sport PS2, but it's noisy... grip seems endless though.
