I can't help on VMR specifically, but I went with Hartmann RS4 reps from Achtuning in Seattle (had them shipped to Calgary with new tires from Tire Rack). The purchase went very smoothly and I'm very happy with the wheels.

Hey, is your A4 also an S-line? I also have an 08 A4 3.2 S-line tiptronic. Have you had any issues with injectors or intake valve carbon build up? Also, was looking for a set of wheels for my A4. Do you have a contact in Seattle?

Yes, I had issues with misfires on cold starts due to carbon build up; only for the first 30 seconds or so then it went away. I had this issue almost since I bought the car at 12,000kms. It took 2 or 3 trips to the dealer but they eventually fixed it - they first tried having me add a fuel additive that didn't help. Then, as per TSB 2019948/3 they removed the intake hose, throttle body, intake manifold, etc. and manually cleaned each valve with solvent. That seems to have done the trick.

As for wheels, just call Achtuning in Seattle. They were great to work with.

Thanks for the reply, it seems that the 3.2 has a carbon build up problem and some issue with injectors. I've had the injectors replaced twice for a no start complaint and while they were in there they also cleaned the valves, the second time I had a talk with the service tech about it, he said there is no fix available for the carbon problem.

There is that oemconcept.com | Replica OEM Wheels | Alufelgen | Miro | VMR which is a sponsor on this site. While it isnt in Alberta it is based in Canada so I dont see where they could nail you with other fees. They seem to have a decent selection of VMR as well.

Thanks for the info, I ordered a set of 18" 708's from VMR in onyx black. Talked to Steve at VMR and he was really helpful. Fit and finish of the wheels was great, although the factory wheel lock socket is too big for the size of the hole in the wheel, so you should have a different wheel lock or wheel stud on hand.
