was wondering is there a lot of owners here in saskatoon?....any good mechanics...what about performance stores?

I just bought an Allroad, and I have been scoping around a little bit. I think Eurotec on ave. C is worth a shot for a decent mechanic. The VW store is probably your best bet though. I have not looked much for performance stores as I will probably just order stuff off the internet.

Have fun with that A4.

thanks for the info...but do we have any meets here?....any audi geeks that know alot...because i just bought an audi and dont really know much about them online forums help but reality guidance is far more superior...

John at import auto is great he knows all the little tricks and doesnt mind helping out where he can.well worth buying parts from him.

Hey guys, (and gals?)

Just joined up this forum. I have owned my A4Q for about 8 months now. Bought it as a project car and love it to death. My biggest regret is not buying an A4 years ago. :cool:

I second John at Import Auto. I also know the guys at Prairie Autohaus - good for new and old VW's and Audis, as well, Rubens (very honest shop) for new and old VW's and older Audi's. I have had the VW dealer ship help out with some stuff too.

I have VAG-COM, so if anybody local needs a read or just want to do a 0-60 and a 1/4mile run log (a very cool feature with VAG-COM) let me know. :)

I might come in with the wife, as a spectator. I seen a silver TT yesterday morning at the corner of Ruth and Lorne. Was wondering if it might of been you?:cool:
I may enter my car next year. I am have started a project on it. I am actaully converting it to a 2.0TDI from a 2005 Passat. Very custom set-up though. Tranny from Europe. ECU and engine harness is a mix match of stuff from Europe and North America. Turbo is a GT2056V from a 2.8 Jeep CRD. AWIC cooler, etc. I have my own flasher so will have a few different programs ranging from mild to 230HP/450ft-lbs torque. :D I had to go with an RS4 flywheel adaption and clutch set-up to take the torque. Figure it might draw a bit of interest.

Cool project, I would like to check it out sometime. Where do you source all your parts from? Do you know Lester from Chamness Autobody? He has more VW and Audi parts then I have seen at one wrecker (mostly diesel).

yes, I do know Lester. I will be making a quick trip out to his place in a few weeks. Most of the time my parts come from other wreckers across Canada, as I usually do not have time to go out there. I also have a couple good importer contacts for the Euro stuff.

I go out to lesters every couple weeks for parts for other people. I have to pick up a 1.9 tdi next trip if that might be the right time for you,let me know if your interested or need something picked up.

I just play with VWs and my kids and most of their friends seem to drive TDIs. I just picked up my TT from Miami in Jan. of this year.So now I have added Audi to my new interests.If you have crappy under car work I do have a Hoist in my garage.
I am also curious about the Vag-Com. what type of stuff can you do with it.Diagnostics?

Hi guys, I just brought an Audi A4Q 1.8T about a month ago, and for some reason I found it actually sucks up quite a bit of fuel, In city I average out 17L-20L per 100km in city and about 15L per 100km for highway(really gentle driving and just get it oil change), my buddy in town drive a TT 1.8t Q he said he average about 10L-11L per 100km. I just wondering what the numbers are for you guys and any tip for more fuel efficient, would VAG-COM will work for this???

I don't have any idea what my mpg or km\L are I've only been driving it this summer and fairly hard,but labman is the vag-com guy he can probably answer your question about tuning with the program he has. I have a code reader if you want to check for any codes,I didn't have a engine light on but there was a couple codes there . Have you noticed black around your exhaust tip from running rich.

I am David and I too live in Saskatoon. I am new to this site and the Quattro world but I like to learn. Also like to meet fellow Audi fans here in the city. Especially since my A4 has a warning light on. Anybody like to do a scan? :)

But here is a little bit more on my Audi.
It is a 1999 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8T. Black on Black Leather. It usually stands out because of the black rims that I have on it. I just bought it about 3 Months ago and I love it. I always wanted to buy one but now that I have one I live in an apartment and I haven't even opened the hood yet. Except when I took it in for an oil change.

Anyhow, looking forward to hear from you guys.

Hi all, just joined up myself tonight. Up here in Prince Albert. Picked up a gorgeous, modified, 1996 UrS6 about a month ago. I'm also a longtime VW guy and anyone in the scene would probably know me from the shows with my little black (heavily modified) 82 cabby.

Look forward to meeting up with some fellow Audi fans here in the province.

He is a college trained mechanic that can not do auto repairs full time. Offer's guarnteed work, and a good deal on the repair cost. Strong at electrical and brakes, and power accessories. Can confidently do your repair, He might be able to help particularly if u are new with ur car and need help around them

I don't get to check this very much, I would like to see some pics (speedtec) of your URS6 and your caddy. I have a little vw truck I hope to do up sometime.

I have not found out yet when the Audi grand opening is yet, I drove past and there are a few more cars on the lot. (mcbicycle)

And Dave I haven't forgot about your engine light I will call this weekend.

There was an ice track behind Merlin motors in other winters I'll have to go and check.

New to the forum.

I'm currently running the SKDubs group in Saskatoon (and Saskatchewan in general, for the most part). We have a Facebook group you can join if you'd like to.

I'm a VW technician at the dealership, as well, so would be glad to answer what questions I can.

We're planning a meetup sometime in the spring, if anyone is interested!
