2011 Audi Q5 - oil consumption, paperwork for 1 oil change missin
So the car has 113,000 km on it. About 10,000 km ago the oil consumption started and progressed quick. Now I have to add pretty much 1L of oil every time I fill up, which is usually around 500-600 km. It's a bit better on a highway, probably around 900-1000 km per liter. Not only it is annoying but also expensive too since the oil is about $13 per liter.
I took it to the Audi dealer and the dealer said that Audi has extended coverage for this issue up to 130,000 km, however they need the whole service history for that. If I can't I will have to pay at least $1400, that is if the "easy fix" will work. The car was serviced at the same dealer all times except for one @ 86,000 km. I was away for a bit in a small town in BC, so I changed the oil/filter there. Filter I bought from another Calgary dealer while Syntec Edge 5W40 I purchased from a local Walmart. A mechanic changed the oil for me out of a garage, so I have no paperwork but the oil was changed as good as if it was changed at an Audi dealer. I myself had 2006 Audi A4 2.0 and I changed the oil there probably 10 times, so I am more than familiar with the process.
In any case I am trying to find the mechanic and see if he can provide me with the paper work but I am not sure if I will be able to. In any case I would like to write a letter to Audi Canada and kindly request them to waive that requirement for all paperwork and still honor the warranty. Does anyone know who at Audi Canada would be the best person to contact?
I had around 15 cars including 6 Audis and I had not seen the car lose so much oil @100,000 km.
I know there are a lot of fellow Q5 owners who must have had similar issues. Can you share your stories if you had to deal with Audi Canada or you resolved it at dealership level?
