05 A4 Price
Hi Guys,
This is my first post, and this question might have been discussed before but I am on a short notice. Here goes:
What would you say is the a) fair value b) good value for a 2005 Audi A4 CVT, locally driven in Vancouver with 50K kms. The car is in good shape.
Will appreciate any responses and post how much I am getting it for.

Re: 05 A4 Price
thanks for your response. It is not quattro, I wonder how much of a difference that makes? The price you quoted there is that for a fair deal or a good deal?

Re: 05 A4 Price
I just traded in my 2004 A4 Quattro 6 speed (60,000km) and got $18,000. They were planning on selling it for about $23,000. The '05 TT (40,000km) I bought was about $31,000.
The CVT tranny and FWD make a big difference in price, but being an '05, I would thank that about $23,000 would be reasonable.
Good Luck

i'd recommend you research the CVT transmission on google. I was close to buying a CVT but held back due to expensive and common failures. If you hold out you can get a quattro for a similar price

Re: 05 A4 Price
hey guys, thank you all for the responses..i research CVT's; although there arnt too many problems with them after 03' I am still not willing to take the risk (it will be a $7K hit if the tranny goes)
I drove a 2005 1.8T Quattro yesterday (listed $23K), felt that the FWD was more powerful because it was lighter, other than that the car was good (maybe needed a little more power!)..

I also found that the FWD was a tiny bit quicker in acceleration, but no difference on the highway. However, the added traction of the Quattro is really worthwhile wet or dry. It's almost impossible to break the tires loose even from a standing start on slippery roads. With the FWD it's easy to spin the front tires from a start.
Go Quattro!
