Default Rear Brake Pad Replacement - 2014 Q5

I'm going to replace the rear brake pads on my Q5 and wondering about the EPB. Is there a proven way to manually disengage the EPB or, if it's on a level surface and chocked, is it necessary? OR, if it's disengaged is there a fuse which can be removed?
