RS5 Resonator Delete
Hey everyone, so today after reading on some forums and seeing some videos I took the resonators out of the RS5. I may have over hyped it a bit, the videos I saw all the cars had the sport mufflers where this model did not, but I didnt think much of it. The videos I heard made it sound amazing, loud and raspy but still bearable. Took it down to zoro muffler in mississauga and they did a pretty good job. Installed a stainless steel T409 x-pipe with flawless welds. All in was $226 with tax.
Started the beast up, and was a little disappointed. I was expecting much louder, but due to it having the base mufflers it was meh. Took it for a drive, and was just echoey and very droney at certain RPM's (this was with the valves open btw). With the valves closed it sounds almost stock. All in all, I wouldn't recommend someone to do a res delete with stock mufflers. If you have the sport exhaust from what I have heard and read it sounds pretty awesome. Lesson learned and now time to find a full catback
