Default Pirelli

Last week I purchased a 2013 Q5 SL for my wife. I put about about 600km on it and fell in love with Audi. When swinging the deal, the sales department conned me into the winter tire package and now the vehicle IMO looks horrible with the 17" standard wheels and ballon tires.

So

Because I was jealous of my wife's new ride, I went and purchased a 2013 S5 to even the score and told the sales team to stuff their winter tire package and I'd look after it myself. I called Blaskin and Lane and they recommended the Pirelli Winter Sottozero Series II for the S5.

For $514 per tire, I want to know if anyone here has experience with these tires.... good or bad.

The car is ready next Thursday so I have time to decide.

Your input would be appreciated.

Lol that's insane!

Look into Nokian Hakkapelitta tires . im running 245/40/18 on my s4 and absolutely love them both in looks and performance.

I know the other two popular winter tires for the s4/s5 are Bridgestone blizzacks or Dunlop SP wintersport 3ds.

I got my whole package including wheels for under $2000.

The nokian mentioned above are fantastic! Quiet, smooth, handle high speed and lots of winter crap.... Awesome. Running them on 18" dedicated rims.

You may want to consider Hankook W409 - they are pretty good

I have the Pirelli Winter Sottozero Series II 240's and they are awesome, a little soft above 10+ degrees C but what winter tire isn’t? This is the second set that I have had and I order mine from 1010tires.com They usually run me for about $1000-$1200 for the set with all said and done. I highly recommend 1010tires.com as I have purchased multiple times and never had an issue and they are super quick. If you are in town (Calgary) PM me and you can take a look at them if that helps. I wouldn’t go any other route personally tried them all and still love Pirelli for winter. They are ultra quiet and have a very good handle on Ice and snow

I've had good experiences with the Hakkas as well as Bridgestone ws60/70's. I've had good buying experiences at tirerack.com.

I ended up going with Pirellis. Couldn't have made a better choice.

^ did you really end up paying $514 a tire??

Also curious as to why you left the V6T badges on and put the supercharger badges below? I've only ever seen this on one other car a B8.5 S4 from Royal Oak Audi...did they do his to you???

The vehicle is unaltered with the exception of an added interior light in the trunk. Did not purchase from Royal Oak, so I have no idea.

And

Yes, I paid $514 per tire. Why?

Because I can.
