Default Thermostat Issues

My 2006 A3 thermostat works on and off. At times, thermostat gauge doesn't move at all. I am thinking thermostat sensor or faulty thermostat. As anyone come accross this? Is thermostat replacement something than can be done as DIY? any advice is appreciated.

You'll need to replace it with one of these... Audi A3 FWD 2.0T > Search > Thermostat > ES#252671 Thermostat - 06F121111F

I've got the same problem at the moment, some dyas its working, some days it's not. It also a real PITA to replace.

I am not sure about this but you might want to try calling an Audi dealership and ask for updates. Im almost sure that there is one for the thermostat.
