I just got an 2010 A3 and the sunroof 'button' switch is very annoying and not nearly as practical as the A4 'dial'. Even my VW Golf had the 'dial' switch which requires WAY less time to use and is a way more precise/logical design.

Question: can i do a straight trade for the switch mechanism from an A4 to an A3? The A3 has a circular opening that appears to be made to house the dial switch anyways!

As A3 owners, does anyone have the dial switch in your car? is it an option?

I am wondering the same thing, i might just buy an A4 one of the same year off ebay and see if it will work. If you have access to one let me know, I will be your test pilot

ya not sure if theres any electrical/design differences..might not be a straight up snip and switch. not sure if it would affect my warranty at this point. hm.

but if you're looking for an a4 switch, this guy replied to my thread on another forum saying he could supply them for cheaper than dealer cost (not sure how much cheaper) if it's doable.

Nah, I am calling all the junk yard to see if there is a totaled A4 in the same make year, probably get the switch for 5-10 bucks

heres a link that has a brief electrical diagram of the sky system for the different models.. a2 and a3 seem to have diff systems with same control unit, so maybe the a4 has the same control unit also.

the more i look at it, the more i think it might be a problem... the control units all connect to the computer and a different switch would probably mess with the control unit and the codes etc..
