I'm seeing more and more Audi drivers with rear fog lights on, when there's no FOG!!!
These lights are extremely bright and were designed that way to be seen when the visibility is poor, when it isn't, they're just bliding.

TURN YOUR REAR FOG LIGHTS OFF!!!

I think half the people with these on don't even know what the switch does in that postion.

Next thing you know they'll be in here asking why only one of their rear fog lights work haha

 

I modded mine to have both of them glow, I like to see the faces of people behind me. Hehehe I never have mine off, it looks better. Burgundy b5 with a obnoxiously loud magan flow exhaust and annoyingly bright lights ---- Me

 

The rear fog light design is a crappy design. Shame on you Audi! Pull the switch out once for front fog lights, and twice for rear... not smart. It's easy to screw up. Besides, who needs rear fog lights. I don't remember last time I drove down a foggy road backwards. Personally, I like to go forwards.

Other motorist. Hey that's a great idea. Nothing like driving down a foggy road and see something that looks like headlights right in front of you. LOL.

Does any other company do this, or iis this function unique to Audi?

 

You pull to the first position for front fogs, second position to add in the rears...how hard is that?

The reason behind having only one side lit up I believe has to do with the European laws and differentiating them from headlights or stoplights of any kind.

 

As afretes stated at the beginning of this subject, he's seeing lots cars driving with the rear "fog lights" on, so the answer to your question is obvious. People who are not familiar with this "feature" will just pull with switch and they can easily pull it out two positions without realizing it.

 

Personally I think its a case of "1 is good 2 is better" but however you want to see it is cool too.

 

Waht fogs are its just a second strip of red color on the top of the tail light. Your regular tail lights always are on, but they are dull and get bright when you brake, the fog lights are always at max brightness.
Only one glows, its top left, but there is a mod that takes about 30 min, including preparation time to make both left and right work. It looks a lot better when the fog lights are working
