Default my key with the memory seat

Hi All.

I hope you guys can help me...I search in the forum but didn't find anything nor could I find it on the net.

I just purchased my A4 2007 Quattro with both Premium and Convenience package. Unfortunately I'm in Quebec and the manual came only in FRENCH!

I tried but can't get it going to program my seat memory position to my key and have my wife's key remember her position. I know it can be done. But just not sure how...

From what I can understand I'm suppose to do this.

Press my memory position (1) and then press the Memo button and the Unlock on my key within 10 seconds and hold both for 2 seconds.

But it's not working for me. I have the key in the ignition and the car on when I'm doing this. Since I assume it has to be done so because to remember the seating position it's done with the car on....again I'm not sure.

Thanks in advance.

i have a a4 3.0 with the same problem had complete memory seat module replaced still wouldn t work it was back at the dealer twice. finally got it sorted some sort of coding issue.

you are right in how you set them, you dont't need the key in or the ignition on though i have always set mine with the drivers door open and the key in my hand.

Thanks Buddy...I'll give it one more go and if that doesn't work I'll bring it to the dealer.
