Default Flywheel, composite?

I have to put in a new clutch soon in my 99 a4 1.8TQ, and the mechanic told me I wouldn't have to replace the flywheel unless it was a composite because they can't resurface those. Does anyone know if it's a composite flywheel in my model?

If the surface is smooth (no scoring) you may get away with keeping the fly-wheel and just replace friction/pressure plates and the throw-out bearing... depends on your finances at this point.
