An original clutch with that kind ks is something to worry about. Also depends on how much you're paying for the car, it maybe worth it if the price is low enough.

It's the labor that's expensive...tried eBay for OEM?

OH GOD! thats bloody expensive! i suggest getting a third party clutch, maby even stage 2 to make it a bit more sporty and paying your regular mechanic for the labor, will be cheaper then that! There is a good place called migus auto works by dundas and dixie, these guys are polish and they rock! I always go there for my oil changes and repairs for all my rides! give them a shout see what they can estimate it to.

A soft clutch is NOT sign of impending doom!

When driven nicely a good clutch - and AUDIs have good clutches - lasts as long as the engine.

I have seen 40,000Km clutches burnt like toast... I have seen 300,000Km clutches which look like they were just put in!

...'sides: clutches are like brakes: eventually they wear out! It's a fact of life!

^^^^ exactly, on my 2003 cavalier i pretty much destroyed the clutch in the matter of a couple of moths, it was good when i got it first. It all depends on the usage and audi has some of the softest clutches i used. I used to sport WRX and that thing kicked back! For that price it seems like a good deal over all. I got min for 10 gs wit 100 ,000 km on it a few months back but it is very mint. For the price your paying, and the engine being that good, your laughing!
