Hey guys, I just got my brand new 09 A4 S-line and I am pumped. In my first week however, I have noticed a really strange issue with the heater. The fan is guided by an arrow which automatically controls it to keep it at the desired temperature. When the car slows down or stops, this arrow goes down as well. Being from Canada, and experiencing a late cold winter, I was in a drive-thru and cranked the heat past the indicated fan arrow. Since I was at a stop, the air it began to blow was freezing. Does this really mean I can't crank my fan past the indicator arrow when I'm at a standstill. Ran this issue by my salesman (who owns a B8 himself) and he had no idea on how it worked. Can anyone clear this issue up?

 

Isn't it explained in the owners manual?

 

Read through the manual and ................nothing. Everyone recommends staying on auto mode, but I like to crank it once in a while. That's where the problem starts.

 

In that case, I would go to the dealer and have them explain it to you. Someone there must know about the heating.... hopefully...

 

Went to the dealer, they checked it out. They said no problems. My dealer, who owns a B8, has no idea in regards to my question. Interestingly, they gave me a loaner and it did the exact same thing. I guess I'll just have to get used to it.

 

You should come out to the next meet in Calgary on the 19th of March, and we can take alook I have not delt with a B8 A4 yet, but it is an interesting issue maybe I can vag-com it and see what shows up, maybe it can be programed differently
