Yesterday I found an ‘09 Audi TT coupe that had 5k off the sticker. So I went and took it for a test drive. Maybe trade in the wife’s Camery or something like that. Now, it is a nice car. Beautiful black leather seats, well laid out dash, and a very similar TT configuration.

However, once I drove it is where I found that this 2.0 (200hp) car had NOTHING on my car. When compared to my APR tuned car, this TT felt like a brick. Only after driving like 3 miles, I took it back and told the salesman, “sorry, but I was let down by this car.” Again, not a knock on Audi, but when compared to a tuned Audi, it just didn’t match up. So far a ‘01 Boxster and this TT don’t impress me much, when compared to my APR tuned '05 Audi TT. They suggested I look at the TTs, but that is like 55-60k. NO!!!

I guess it goes to show you how well APR, and other companies out there, have done with the after market modifications.

 

Well what did you expect?! You're driving an APR tuned TT. Do yourself a favour and buy a new TT then go see the friendly people at APR. They will hook you up with at least 55 more horsepower and 100 more lb-ft. of torque.

 

Sounds like he is promoting that tuning house to me.

I did think about trading up, but for that additional 38k USD it just didn't buy me much. I would be cheaper slapping in a Stage III+ turbo upgrade. And don't think I haven't thought about that. OH YEAH, BABY!!! ZOOM, FREAK'N ZOOM!!!
