wood panel inserts
Hi,
I just ordered my 2011 Premium Plus Teak Brown/Beige. I wanted the wood inside, but really didn't like the Almond wood inserts on the doors, dash and center console so I ended up going for the aluminum that come standard with the car.
I am looking for options to switch my inserts for wood inserts (dark brown color) that would match my beige interior. Anybody has ideas where I could buy them from and how much it would cost to have them installed?
I would really like them to fit perfectly and look like original inserts.
Thanks!

i think the price was much more reasonable than the dealer cost. not sure of canadian availabilty, but worth a look.

Pat, call David 514-913-8008 he works for Luxwood in Mtl.
Audi uses this company for their wood trim installations. You should be able to get what you want for under 500$

Hi GUys,
Afretes: Thanks, but I looked at this opiton with my delaer. Cannot swap inserts on the 2011. If I want wood, it's only the almond color. They checked with Audi Canada.
Big C: I went to Europrice website mentioned. It would cost about $1000 just to buy the inserts. I still need to have them installed by someone.
Rocco: Sounds good. I will call to find out.
Thank you all for the quick responses. I love this forum!

Re: wood panel inserts
Pat, before I picked up my Q5 3 weeks ago, I thought the aluminum trim wasn't that appealing, and that the wood trim would give it a more luxurious look. But when I actually picked up my car, and saw what it looked like -my perception changed. To me I now think the aluminum trim is very attractive, makes the car look very sharp, sporty. Keep in mind, the Q5 interior is very luxurious looking even without the wood. (Just my optinion..)
Maybe it's my color combination that makes the aluminum trim appealing, -I have the White Abis / with Brown Cinnamon leather interior. I may change my mind and go for the wood later on, not sure.
I wonder how many Q5 owners decided to change the aluminum trim for the wood.

Re: wood panel inserts
Funny, that's what my wife was telling me yesterday. That maybe we should drive it with aluminium inserts for a while and then change only if it really bothers us...
I'll give it some time before switching!

Re: wood panel inserts
I pick up my 2011 3.2 Premium Teak Brown, black leather with aluminium trim in late Aug. When I ordered it back in May, I thought the combination is kind of dark. When I physically see it, I just love it. Black interior with aluminium is a perfect match. It has a very sharp, modern and expensive look. The black interior also matchs the teak brown. I am glad that I did not order the brown with aluminium trim or wood trim which give a touch traditional and older look.

Re: wood panel inserts
I think what it comes down to is personal taste and choice. I have wood grain against brown seats which I think give the car a very luxurious look on the inside, however I agree that aluminum looks absolutely sick against black.
