Rear view Camera, when will it be available?

Rear view Camera, when will it be available?
I already received my Audi Q5 2 months ago, but when it arrived, I was told the rear view camera was not installed due to a shortage. I was told when it arrives, I will be contacted and it will be installed.
It's been 2 months and I still have not received it. I called my Audi dealership in Montreal and they tell me they have no idea when it will come.
anyone else have this problem, or have any info?
I checked ebay and there are dozens of OEM rearview cameras for the Q5 available for around $25. I'm even wondering if I can order one and install it myself?
any thoughts?

1st It will not work
2nd assembly is complicated
For your information, you need hardware to install cameras from $ 800 plus software

I don't think that's the situation though. The car is already pre-wired for the rear-view camera. The only thing that's missing is the camera itself.
Although, it may be turned off in MMI and I'm definately not going to play around with that.
I was thinking I could even buy the camera and bring it to AUDI to have them install it. Kind of like "you couldn't get it, so I got it for you"

But I would not buy this camera from $ 25 because if there are any problems they will say that this is due not orgilnih parts and you can lose your warranty.
You can check whether you have a camera module is located in the rear as in Fig.

I think it would be best for contacting Audi service for customers

i am waiting for my Q7 2012 and the dealer also told me it will be without the rear camera and it will be installed later but he don't know when

i contacted audi.ca and they don't know when these cameras will be available and they said to keep in contact with my dealer ,i can't believe a company like audi can't do anything about this issue

I'm pretty surprised too. They are very casual about it, like it's no big deal.
We paid for an expensive Nav system to get the rear camera, and you find out it's not installed only when you pick up your car (at least, that's what happened to me). Noone knows when it will be available.
I would have expected some kind of compensation for us, but apparently they don't really care. They don't even offer a refund.
Lucky it wasn't a shortage on wheels, or I would have picked my car up on cinderblocks.

There was compensation from Audi for the inconvenience of not having the camera software at the time you took delivery. You should probably speak to your dealer.
