I probably will be moving from the States to Calgary at the end of this year. I don't want to deal with the import process and am hoping to get a Q5 in Calgary. I am wondering if the Calgary dealership carries stock Q5 at all? Or are they pretty much all custom orders? Do they just carry a few cars for the showroom and test drives and that's it? I would love to hear about your experiences in Calgary.

One thing that I have noticed about Canadian dealership websites is that, unlike the US dealer websites, they do not list any new car inventory at all.

You are correct. No inventory of Q5's in Calgary. Order wait time is about 3 months or so right now. (We have two dealerships in Calgary - Royal Oak and Glenmore).

 

Thank you - that confirms my fear! LOL! So every single Q5 in Calgary was a custom order? Wow!

Do they have any A4's in stock? I do need a car when I get to Calgary.... so I have to wait for months, I may need to find other alternatives..... thanks!

 

Likely same deal with the A4s... If u are set on a q5, why don't you just order ahead of your arrival?

 

I may have to look into this possibility.... however, I don't want to pay cash and so they may not give me financing options before I start my job there!!!

 

Glenmore usually has several A4's in stock - depending on how particular you are about options you will probably be able to find an A4 there whenever you want one.
