Talking Q5 extended warranty

Picking up my baby today! I was not previously informed of the extended warranty that is available. For a low km application and 7 YR coverage was quoted $3200 plus tax. I am told it does cover all NAV and electrical items. Any feedback or additional information regarding this would be appreciated. BTW you have 30 days to decide on purchase.

Sounds pretty decent, personally i would never keep a German car more than 3 years but if you plan to do so something like this would be well worth it.

I would presonally take my chances on the price and get it just before my factory warranty expires. You may buy it only to sell it before you can use it.

Warcity,

I am just curious to know why you would never keep a German car more than 3 years. I think German engineering is amongst the best and surely their cars last much longer.

I am waiting to buy a Q5 that I intend to keep a long time and somehow was curious to seek your opinion.

Hi Armado: let me start by saying this is my first Audi. Its the best purchase I've ever made and you should think twice about it. I admit German cars are build solid but through my past experiences and that of friends I have found that with out warranty if something other than wear and tare items was to fail the price tag is extensively hefty compared to Japanese cars. But I think the class and engineering of German cars should be put in the same category as Japanese even if its a Lexus or Acura. Based on this personal experience I'd be hesitant to keep my car past its warranty period but this might change based on what see of it in the next years.

But don't even think twice about this car it a thing of beauty.
