When l visited my Audi dealer today to lease a 2016 q5 premium plus without the tech package l hit a road block.

I asked if it had a backup camera and they said l needed the tech package ($4500) to get this.

As we know the Q5 has very little if any technology period. They did say they can put an after market camera in for approx $1000. This is me no boggling because when l leased an Avalon in 2013 they realized when l was picking it up that it didn't have a camera they asked me to wait 10 minutes to the Instal one.

By the way every other vehicle l looked at had every tech feature period including budget suv's.

In two yrs Audi will be updated and that is why l am leasing.

Need info on aftermarket cameras.

Good review and comments. Product mentioned in the posting also happens to be on sale for $285. A good diy job that is easily returnable to stock.

 

I am so upset that Audi's Technology package is a Mickey Mouse package. If Audi doesn't get their act together they will lose market share for sure.

The new Q5 will be coming out before the New Year looking like the Q7, but the question is can they catch up to their competition's real technology's packages at a fraction of the Audi's offering!

I agree. My son bought his wife a loaded Kia Sorento. It has stuff that can't be had on the Q5 at any price. A couple of things that can't even be had on the new Q7.

Maybe he is just trying to get rid of his existing stock but whenI asked a dealer the other day, he said the new Q5's won't be here until the fall of 17 and the SQ5 in 2018.
