Q5: 3.2 vs 2.0T questions
Apologies in advance if this topic exists already but I have some specific questions because I'm just confused by all the internet articles and I'm looking to purchase this month:
1. Has anyone experienced 2.0T turbo-lag issuestHN
2. Gas efficiency: For highway driving has anyone come close to the 3.2 or 2.0 numbers?
3. Where are the best deals available in the GTA, Oakville, Mississauga etc
Thanks

Re: Q5: 3.2 vs 2.0T questions
There have been loads of comments on these items, among others—a search through this forum will give plenty of information—but this is what I know based on having my 2.0T for 6 weeks:
1. Minimal. General consensus seems to be the same. You will not avoid it completely driving anything with a turbo—that's just reality—but it has, in my experience, been minimized in this vehicle to the point that it is a non-issue: the 2.0T feels more responsive off the line than the naturally aspirated 3.2. I assume you were asking as a comparison between the two. Audi Drive Select adjustment of throttle response helps, if that is an option.
2. Yes. I am just coming out of my break-in period, but have experienced 7.5 - 8.5 highway range enough to be impressed. No complaints there, though City numbers are not nearly as happy at this point. Other wise-ones on this forum have indicated that awaiting the 5,000 km mark will give more accurate readings. Note that these are computer numbers.
3. I will leave this for knowledgable GTAers

Re: Q5: 3.2 vs 2.0T questions
Hello - I also looked at both options very closely and in the end went with the 3.2 with no regrets whatsoever! Smooth clean power, feels solid and not much difference in fuel economy overall. In my view, there was just no comparison between the two engines! My .002! Cheers!

Re: Q5: 3.2 vs 2.0T questions
I don't regret going with the 2.0T. It doesn't sound as "refined" as the V6, but in terms of feel and power, it's great. See: Q5 2.0T vs 3.2L Dyno Comparison - AudiWorld Forums

Re: Q5: 3.2 vs 2.0T questions
I went with the 2.0 and do not regret my choice at all. The engine has all the power you need and the kicker is the fuel consumption. You'll be well ahead with the price of gas going up.

Re: Q5: 3.2 vs 2.0T questions
The day I picked up my 2.0T Q5, my wife and I went on a road trip. The trip had been planned for a while, it just happened that we recived the Q5 at the same time. Right off the showroom floor, we filled it up and I acheived 850+km on that 75l tank with some city driving. That's pretty impressive for a new vehicle.

As for shopping in the GTA. Call around and you are bound to find one of them willing to give you a great deal. Check the "2011 Q5 deal" thread. There are many posts and some info about Toronto dealers. Happy hunting!
