Purchased Q5
It’s done!!!
Purchased a brand new 2011 Audi Q5 3.2 Premium yesterday and coincidentally it was on my birthday. Nothing like getting a little present for yourself.
Lava Grey, black interior, nav., 19” wheels, B&O, walnut trim, adaptive lights, Audi care, trailer hitch, cargo & front mats.
In spite of some trepidation going in I enjoyed the buying experience; due mainly to the salespeople involved.
At Audi Downtown Toronto I dealt with Cory Williams. Very knowledgeable, pays attention to the details, is open and honest and above all is true to his word.
At Mark Motors in Ottawa I dealt with David Li. Again an excellent ABS. Very personable and energetic and his portion of the test drive will definitely show you why Quattro is the only way to go.
The dealerships were very competitive and willing to negotiate provided you are reasonable, courteous and polite. Do your homework though. In the end I purchased through Audi Toronto Downtown.
The good news about delivery; I probably won’t have to buy a winter tire package.
A big thank you to “warcity” and “trump” for steering me in the right direction.

Re: Purchased Q5
Congrats on your purchase! Now the hard part is settling in for a long wait. Those of us who purchased in July/August were initially given an estimate of 3 months for delivery, but it's now stretching out and looking like it'll be 5 or 6 months. I'm curious to hear what their estimate is for your delivery?
Glad to hear you had a good experience with the sales reps, it really makes a big difference. Congrats again

Ordered Aug 12th, so if all works as planed - it will be 3.5m waiting.... Still not bad, but earlier in the year Q5s were holding 2.5m waiting period.

Re: Purchased Q5
I did not go S-line. The package looks great (those 20" tires and grill work give the vehicle a very nice look) but instead I used the package cost to offset the price of other options which in my specific case were just more functional e.g. trailer hitch, adaptive lights (I do a lot of driving on country roads).
Re. U.S. purchase; I thought about it (albeit for a very short time) but decided the paper work and the logistics coupled with the different option set-up on the vehicle was not worth pursuing. I think if I had pursued it further I would possibly have taken a look at using Best Price Express which I believe acts as a broker. I think they can prepare all the documents plus arrange to have any vehicle modifications made (if necessary).

Re: Purchased Q5
Another thing re. U.S. purchase you might want to look into is the transfering of Audi Care from U.S. to Canada. One of the dealers here said Audi care purchased in the U.S. cannot be transferred to Canada (I may be wrong but I believe there are other posts in the forum which talk about this).

Re: Purchased Q5
On the good note, I just got confirmation from my dealer that my Audi is scheduled to be in Halifax on Nov 15th, departure from Germany on Nov 3rd. Then it takes around 10 days to rail it to Toronto. So I'm still on schedule for end of November - as it was estimated originally.

Yup, looks like we are on the same boat! Just done some pretracking, good news is if it misses that vesel, then next one is in Halifax on Nov 21 and next one on Nov 29.
