So I didn't go for the rear seat entertainment system because the cost was absurd and I didn't want the kids turning into zombies. But now I have to admit that for long car trips this could be a life saver. Please post your solutions/recommendations for attaching a tablet for the kids to watch a movie in the back seat of an Audi. In our case we have an old iPad 1 we'd like to recommission.

Yeap, in all of my past 4 cars I've been using these as mobile phone holders/chargers. Maybe visually not the most attractive, but really well build and very solid. Great advantage is modularity, so if you change the phone, you do not need to change base, just replace the phone specific part. I've never used this for rear entertainment system, but I can easily assume same build quality for these holders as for phones.

I have two of these in my A4 Avant. With the MMI Bluetooth adapter it streams the audio from the iPad Air though the B&O system. Its a sweet setup. Available at Staples and various places online
