It's in your insurance company's best interest to cover repair as quite frequently if you do not repair eventually the crack will expand and complete windshield replacement is necessary. Also with regards to your paint scratch just use the repair paint stick and when you've accumulated more scratches and dings get them repaired all at once, you'll probably save some monies.
