Hi,

We finally received our Q5 last week.
I love driving it. So quiet and comfy, yet so responsive.
It came with 12km on the odometer and we spent about 90 minutes with the salesguy to go over some of the features. It also has winter tires already mounted (Pirelli Scorpion 18").

I thought the Nav system could reproduce buildings in 3D. He didn't seem to know about this feature. Am I wrong?

I also do not get traffic info. It's just nowhere to be found, so I guess the posts saying this service is not available in Canada would be right.

I read that traffic info is transmitted through the Sirius radio feed if your free months subscription is activated but it only works for the Geater Toronto Areas in Canada for now.

I have a detailed post about traffic transmission. I don't want to swing the post else where but once your subscription to TRAFFIC expires you CANNOT get traffic from Sirius Canada. You must subscribe to the US. Please do a search for my post.

Nav only shows 3d building at major buildings such as City hall in Toronto and all the tall financial buildings down town. No where else will show you 3D. Only exception is Pearson airport. Go to the 100 level zoom and scroll down to over down town Toronto and you will see the 3d buildings. In the US you get FAR more 3d coverage.

Press the "info" button on your console for traffic info. You will only get traffic info if you have programmed a destination. Without destination programmed you will not get traffic but periodically construction zones will be marked on the map. Do a search for Q5 traffic info as I have very detailed post on this as indicated above.

Ps. IMO you should keep these rim/tires for winter and buy a nice set of 20" for summer.

You might be right about the tires. I actually did consider getting the 19" but then decided that for an extra $1000, it might not be that important. I now think it would have looked great with 19".

I had read your other posts, so I was expecting to get that for at least 3 months. That's why I was disapointed. On the other hand, I'm in Montreal so I might not get any traffic info anyway from what I understand! Going to Vermont for Xmas so I will check to see if I get some traffic info on the way.

You should for sure get it for at least 3 months (but will not work in Montreal). You're right. Unfortunately traffic in Canada only works for Toronto/GTA.

Looks great! Although I'm a little biased since I ordered the same Q5 but with cinnamon leather, should be here by the end of December *fingers crossed*
I was a little hesitant about getting the Teak Brown but after seeing it on a A6 Avant I was hooked. It's got the coolest metallic fleck in the paint that actually reflects a bit of blue/green from the colour, depending on the light I would think though.

One of the dealers in Calgary has the teak/cinnamon 2.0t as a tester and I was really impressed with the combo. I will say that the colour looks way better than it sounds. wouldn't "fireball copper" be more appealing?
