Default New Q5 Fuel Pump Control Module problem.

Hi guys.
We recently bought a brand new Q5 2.0T premium plus, addition nav package and panaramic sunroof.
Now just a month after we bought the car, we found it "dead" one morning.
The exact story is, it started fine, engine just died on the way out to the underground garage. Started the engine again, but died half way to friend's house. Then tried to start it a couple of times, well u get the idea, it dies.
Well, we were able to get it towed to the dealer.
The dealer said it was the Fuel Pump Control Module that was causing the problem. They replaced it with no charge and fairly quickly.

We picked up the car today, started it, heard some weird noises from the engine/exhast (more likely from the bottom/back of the car). The noice was eventually gone after "warming up" the engine (somewhat similar to winter times).

Now, i've got a couple of questions regarding this.
1. Should I be really worried (now i am) about this issue (meaning the control modules and such)? from the point of view of that it might repeat in the future?
2. Was the noise coming out of the car normal? I mean it shouldnt really need to warm up when it's 20 C outside.

I really didn't expect this to happen, you know, its AUDI, and a BRAND NEW AUDI! FOR CHRIST SAKES!
Thanks for reading and please post some oponions.

Interesting. I've never heard of this happening on the 3.2 engine it doesn't mean it can't. I don't recall anyone with the 2.0 having this issue but I strongly recommend you going back to the dealer and have them listen to the noise. IMO if you can identify the noise (any noise) it can't be normal. Ask the service department to check to see if they have any service bulletin on this issue in their system. That would indicate if this problem is happening to numerous customers.

Please try and take it back soon this should be investigated; you don't want your car dying on you when you're traveling at higher speeds.

Keep us posted.

I would definitely have dealer checked it again.
On the other hand, luxury and reliability are two completely different things, any car can break, even brand new one. It's just how it is.
Also much depends on the particular dealership that you deal with. Some of them are more helpful and knowledgeable then others.
Do be discouraged though, you will have a blast driving that car, heck, even looking at it is a pleasure! I'm convinced you'll be all right.

My aunt has taken the car after the pick up i talked about.
I will be getting it back after the long weekend.
If the noise still exists then I will definetly have it checked it.
Btw, the noise was gone after a minute or so.
But I will post updates if there's any.

I got some updates as well as some other questions.
The noise I was talking about seems to be gone/very very minor. However, I will still get it check out.
Now, I've got another problem.
This is since I first got the car when it arrived.
When driving at low speed (let's say 0-20, like parking lot speed), the acceleration seems to be "latened" (like not very sensitive). When you accelerate, it feels a tiny bit jerky. Is it normal? It's fine when the speed is higher.
I'm thinking it's the 8 speed shift. When you're at low speed/low rev. When u accelerate and de-accelerrate very often, the shift is constantly changine. Just my guess.

This just happened to me. 2 weeks ago my Q5 3.2 2011 would not start and then a few hours later it would start back up. Then a week later the same thing happened without it staring up again. So we have it towed and My Audi repair man receives it and it starts right up. He keeps it for awhile and thinks it is the fuel pump but isnt sure so we take it to the dealer as we get about 1/2 mile down the road the car dies. We get it towed again to the dealer and find out it is the Fuel pump control module and it is faulty. Had it replaced and just drove home. I could not find anything about this happening to any other Q5's and I am very concerned it might have other issues now. Any suggestions?

I experienced with the same problem, in the morning even summer i start the q5 wait about a min or more till the engine warmed up, reverse to the street set to drive and like u said its a bit jerky that feels like you stepped your breaks so hard on slippery and you feel the abs working. thats before the first 30km/h in the morning.
