Thanks so much in advance. We just ordered our 2012 Q5 Prem Plus 2.0, Moonlight Blue/Cardemon Int. We got the 'Mechanical Breakdown Protection' and the 'Wear Protection' extended warranties offered. 0% financing on those, or $400 off if we buy one or $800 off both. I average about 50k a year, mostly highway. The Wear one is $1700 for 60 months, the mechanical is $5100 for 200k over 60 months.

We're as excited as can be to get the New Q, but money might be an issue for us in the future if faced with a thousand dollar repair type thing.

Do any of you have any thoughts about purchase? I've seen proponents of 3rd party warranties, any thoughts?

Just wondering if you ever got the wear and the mechanical additional care packages?

My 2010 Q5 SLine is already at 72K and my initial (80K kms) coverage (paid $800) will soon be up.
