Default Navigation display?

Hello all...just received delivery of my new 2011 Black S-Line Q5 (2.0 T) a few days ago. Absolutely am loving it and will get some pics up soon.

One thing I have noticed that I am not sure if it is normal or not. While the navigation map is on...I notice the top 2-3 cm of the screen are a blueish colour and you cannot see the map there....is this normal...or a malfunction. Curious to know what others have experienced.

Cheers,

Greg

Hi Greg,

Congrats on the new Q5.

Is it possible what you are seeing is the horizon-line? The nav system gives a 3D perspective as you are travelling and it varies depending on how far in or out you have zoomed the display. Try turning the main centre function **** to zoom in or out to see how it changes what you are seeing.

It's 3D view - that is normal. If you prefer to switch to traditional 2D view - you can do so. Then it will show map across all screen.

The blue indicates the "sky".

That is normal because you're seeing the map in 3D.

Press Setup when on the map and change the display to either 2D or Overview for a full screen map.

I personally prefer 2D.

Concerned me too. It's the 3D view. Change the setup as outlined above. Alternatively use voice command:
"2D map" ("3D map" to get the 3D again)
to get a fuller screen, "Additional info off" ("additional info on" to get back the turns/exits on the left hand of the screen)
