Globali charge
is this charge of $200 really worth taking as its essentially window etching which really doesnt do much.
i asked the dealer to take it out, and they did.
my insurance covers theft+depreciation so i think i am covered.
just wanted your opinion on the benefit of taking this feature.

Re: Globali charge
Globali is not only the window etching but also a subscription to a service. Even though your car has the Globali stickers on the windows and large panels, I believe our new cars only come with a two year subscription. After that you can renew or are on your own. Pre-Owned cars will get new stickers if they do not have them and a renewal of the service for two years.
The new Globali (re: mid-2012) Service has been upgraded at our store to include Identity Theft Protection, on top of the original Anti-Theft Protection. Am not too keen on the Identity Theft Protection part, as you have to download them on your personal info first.
Some insurance companies do recognize this product as an effective theft deterrent and will therefore offer a discount for your rate, in my experience there are a few so I would inquire first.
In the end it is also a profit center for the dealer, so it really has to make sense for you so get informed if it is worth your while.
Most stores will remove it if you ask kindly, unless you have haggled your way to bare bones and the dealer needs it to make a buck. At that point you should congratulate yourself anyways.
Good Luck,
Paul
