Different S Line Rims for 2012????

Different S Line Rims for 2012????
Hello,
I just placed an order for a 2012 Q5 S Line, and shortly after received a call from my dealer indicating they will no longer be able to get the classic S Line rims. They sent me this picture of the new 20' rims that the 2012 Q5 S Line will come with. They advised the change was due do to manufacturers difficulties with the old rims? Does this seem right? I don't want to get the new style rims and find out they have gone back to the classic style again in 2013 or sooner! Do you think that Audi will continue with this new style or will it be a temporary replacement until they can resolve the difficulties with the classic style rims? Thoughts or advice?

The problem was with the supplier. They could not keep up with the demand and this causing production delays. We have been advised by Audi Canada and this Sline rim will be used for probably all of the 2012 Q5's with Sline. Nothing was said about 2013 models(too far in the future).

I got word today that my 2012 S-Line has a production delay of 1 month (originally June 10th and now slated for July 11th) due to a shortage of the 20" S-Line wheels. They didn't mention a change in wheel style or why the shortage. I prefer the current wheel style to this possible substitute although I have them on my S4 and find them more difficult to clean. Also, in my way of thinking, the Q5 and S4 should never share the same wheel design. So I guess I find the prospect of a wheel change a bit of a mixed blessing. I'm more pissed about the car being delayed.

Likely it's a demand issue. They manufacture the classic "sline" rim not just for the Q4, the S4 and Q7 also get the same rim and I am sure other models as well.

If worse comes to worse, Sell the rims, and buy a set of Replicas, here-- OEM RIMS FACTORY WHEELS STOCK RIM CHROME REPLICA WHEEL USED RIMS Wheels OEM RIMS FACTORY WHEELS STOCK RIM CHROME REPLICA WHEEL USED RIMS Rims.. Cheers..
