Hey everyone,

I was just wondering, out of curiosity, does the B&O system support hi-def files like flac? It seems like a bit of a waste to have such a great system and only be able to play mp3s on it.

I don't know the answer to your question, but 320kbps (or similar-quality lossy formats) is very close to being indistinguishable from FLAC, or other lossless formats. In a horrible listening environment like a car, you're never going to be able to tell the difference. You'll need a very well-engineered home setup, or some good headphones pick out the difference between the two aforementioned formats.

FWIW, I'm somewhat of an audiophile, and a have a pretty astute ear. I've gone so far as to design and build my own home stereo amplifier

You can use:
- MP3 (MPEG-1 Layer-3, MPEG-2 Layer-3),
- WMA (version 7, 8 and 9),
- M4A (MPEG-4, LC - Low Complexity).

This is the same as standard MMI. B&O connects to MMI as source of music (digital connection) and contains more advanced DSP, completely new set of speakers and power amplifier. So this upgrade has nothing to do with supported file formats.
