Audi Q7 with DVD Player in Headrests
Hi Everyone,
I was browsing the preowned section of my local Audi dealership.
This demo Q7 actually has DVD players in the front headrests.
Does anyone know if this is a factory option?
Check out photos 21 and 25.

Alex, you are right.
I checked with the dealership and they installed the Invision DVD player.
I find it interesting that the dealership would install this non-factory option on essentially a new car. But then again, this dealer is also selling a new Stasis modified A4.

When the Q7 was first availbale in 2007, I remember customers not buying it because we didn't offer a DVD entertainment. We had to quickly source one, and Invision was the one we picked as well. $2,299 for two individual players with wireless headphones.

Re: Audi Q7 with DVD Player in Headrests
Dealer installed them, and if memory serves they were between $2200 and $2500 for the pair. Can't remember precisely, but that price included the dealer install. A nice addition to these is that they match the factor warranty. Invision has a deal with their authorized dealerships where they warranty the units to match the warranty on the vehicle. Not sure if it applies to extended warranties, I doubt it, but it's nice to know the warranty is at least better than the typical 1 year most electronics manufacturers give. Here's a link to the invision site... Mine are the SL Series, the pics below are pretty bad as I am no good with a camera, so the actual picture on the screen does look much better. Having said this, these head units are no plasma! They have a nice picture, but the fine details, especially subtitles could be better. If your kids are watching cartoons, or hollywood movies they will be fine and work quite well. If your going to use them for hooking up a laptop etc... forget it.

If you get them, read the Warranty section on the page, it outlines what you need to do to register the product and activate the warranty. It also outlines the limitations of the warranty.
Here they are in the Q5.
