2015 Q5 Oil consumption issue
I am the first owner of 2015 Q5 2.0 T and started having oil consumption issues at around 120000 kms. Dealer says the fix is to rebuild the engine and costs 8k. I have been doing all the recommended service from Audi dealership and I am the only owner. Very frustrated to see a car like Audi needing a 8k repair at 120000 km even after doing all the recommended maintenance from Audi dealership.
Since this is a manufacturing defect with piston rings, I thought Audi will cover the cost of the repair. But Audi is not honoring my request. Did anyone else have a similar issue? How did you get this resolved?

That's very common!!! Audi drinks oil now, due to low-resistance piston rings. Another reason of increased oil consumption might be a faulty PCV valve (I already replaced it once). Check VCDS if you do have PCV-related faults!
Audi wont fix this issue for you since you are out of warranty. If you decide to keep your vehicle, check out AMB VAG motorsports in Vaughan. They also have an instagram page where they tear down a VAG engine for piston ring repair. Lukman is super knowledgable on VAG products. I think he can do the repair for much less what audi is charging. Let him know Van the Q7 spark plugs guy recommended you there haha. By the way, how much oil are you consuming and what oil do you use?
