Just sit in it and drive it a lot, you wont even notice its dirty. Get really cool winter rims to divert eyes down to the wheels.

My appointment is Thursday (tomorrow) around 17:00 at Audi Prestige DDO on st-Jonhs with Bedik and Franco.

Got to drop the rental tomorrow after work and then get a ride to the dealer.

Have appointment for Pneus Rally in Dorval for the installation of my winters on Friday noon, then off to Orford for the weekend.

I picked it up today at 2PM at Prestige St-Laurent. I had a few little problems which they resolved about 30min in the shop but all in all I'm pretty happy that I can finaly drive it around lol..

1- The flaps in the key hole were stuck open and did not close.
2- The top left chrome border of the center heaters wasn't clipped in properly
3- The car kept wanting to stall on idle

Aparently all 3 problems were caused by the dealer's remote starter guy. He installed a piece backwards which took more room and cause a short. They took the car in the back and now it runs smooth and all is in its place.

4- There's a nasty scratch on the steering wheel's chrome around the audi circles. They are ordering me a new part.

Hope your delivery went smooth and that you have no problems.
I'll post photos soon wit hmy winter wheels.

Well congrat for your delivery.

Mine has not happened 100%.

They had problems with the side steps.

First, Audi, apparently changed the bolt type and the dealer had to get a new set of adaptor, which delayed by 2-3 hours the work.

I went to the dealer and did all the paperwork but the shop was still working on the car at 20:00. Left to do was the protective passenger panels under the car which need to be trimmed after the side steps are installed.
Then the Sherlock was left to be done and wash the car.

They give me a loaner (A4 2.0T) for the night and Friday morning.

I am supposed to go back and pick it up around noon Friday cause I have appointment for the winter tire installation in Dorval.

My wife was really disapointed but nothing we can do.

The mechanics is doing his best and I did not want to rush him.

I'll see later if the remote starter is giving me the problem you mentionned.

Hopefully not, cause I am driving to Orford around 16:00 Friday and need to go back to the office after the tire installation.

Marc

Sorry to hear you had to wait another day! You'll enjoy it eben more at least!

I took it for a spin all night long.... what a smooth ride!!!even on dynamic mode.
I'm very happy with everything so far but man does it get dirty fast in winter (Phantom Black)

Did you get the Python 580 2way starter? If so, be very careful with it, it's super sensitive and has really long range. I had it in my pocket earlier while I was in my kitchen and a beep came from my pocket. Somehow the key which was also in my pocket pressed against the python's start button and the car turned on in my garage.... good thing it beeped to confirm the startup or I wouldn't have even noticed the car was running....

I'm curious about something... maybe you can help me out.
I got the Q5 fully loaded Nav, B&O, Drive Select, Pano, SLine but I don't have a DVD changer in the glove box.... shouldn't there be one that comes with the Nav package???

Thanks!

Great to hear you enjoied it last night.

I did not get the Drive select option (at one point I had to stop clicking the boxes) and opt for the Rar seat DVD sets instead. Maybe, I should have but now it is too late for regrets

I do not know yet about the DVD in the glove box cause all I saw from the car is the under carrage as the car was still on the lift but I will check when I get the car.

I pick the remote starter and will be careful as you said about the buttons.

Similar things happened to me with the EDGE and the buttons been pushed while in my pocket. That's the good thing about the 2 way remote: it sends a signal back to you on what's happening.

Are you sure the DVD slot in not the one on the dash near the 2 SD card slots?

The dealer explained the buttons and all using an other Q5 they had because mine was on the lift.

Man what a cockpit at night with all the lights and buttons

Well I feel Silly...
The DVD IS the center one... I assumed it was audio only but it's not.

No problem

I was about to reply cause I GOT THE CARRRRR
WHOOOHOOOO

It is awesome.

I like the color, the drive, the interior, the MMI.
Got my winter wheels on.
They fit perfectly and no need to get new bolts as the rim has the sperical seat like the original.

The side steps are great: not too big so a tall person does not need to use them and they are not in the way.
A smaller person can use them no problem.

The dealer gave me few gifts for the inconvenience of yesterday.
The guys at the service apologized again for the delay.

Great service.

Will post pictures I took when I have time cause now I got to get out of town.

Regards,

Marc

Congrats on your new ride, glad to hear they compensated you for the extra wait time.

As far as my research for the DVD changer goes, I'm further puzzled since my salesman confirmed the only DVD player was the middle one (Audi Multimedia) but I just found out that the MMI Plus NAV manual page 14 says the CD changer is in the glove box....

Guess I'll call on Monday yet again and deal with the sales manager directly...
The man who handled my delivery has only been there 2 days, he's probably just very confused wit hthe whole models/options...

As far as black gets dirty fast goes... HELL YEAH it does lol...
First car wash tomorrow, 3 days in LOL

To save you some grief over the weekend, the CD changer in the glove box only "Applies to vehicles: with CD changer" (MY2011 Q5s ordered in Canada and US don't have this option. The UK version does)

Thanks LMcQueen

The manager confirmed to me that the CD Changer came with the 2010 but no longer is included on 2011 + models because they consider it "old technology"

It was apparently replaced with the 2 SD Slots & central DVD reader.

Why would they give an outdated manual with a brand new car is beyond me...
