2.0T vs 3.2 fuel consumption
One more statistic: Brand new 2011 Q5 2.0T. 761 km, on 401 and 404 Brockville-Newmarket; back to Ottawa by Highway 7. Consumption: 70.482 liters, or 9.26 l/100km. Speed: on Autobahn 119 km/h on Highway 7, mostly 105 km/h. City driving should consume more gas.
I think the turbo wants premium. But I don't own one yet.
I have been shopping here in So. California and the dealers are eager to sell one for no mark up over invoice. $500 over invoice seems the standard offer. But when you walk away they come down to 0 over invoice. It is clear the advertising and destination charges have profit in them.

9.26 l/100km
is about 25.4 mi/gal. This is less than the other forum member who reported over 30 mpg on a long trip in a new 2.0T Q5. 25 is more in line with what the EPA reports. Still not bad for a vehicle in the size and weight of the Q5.

The dealer told me that you can get away with regular gas, but that it will consume more. I believe that these high performance engines are better off with premium gas.
My gas cap indicates Premium only '95'
I was surprised when I saw it because most gas stations don't even sell this octane level. Highest I've seen is 92-94 at Shell However, I always put the highest octane available.

That's interesting mine says 91. I know in Canada it's only Sunoco that has 94 and they're not even common, 91 is max. Maybe they forgot to change your label from a European label to a North American
.
Antyhing over 90 is accetable I think.
