TCM programming is available from GIAC for B5 and C5, far as I know. They didn't come up with one for the B6 nor C6 though. DSG isn't a mod: you can't just hook up an entirely different tranny onto your car without a lot of headache, especially a complicated tranny like the DSG.

Re: Tiptronic chips.......
i have a 02 B6 tiptronic 1.8T Quattro A4.
I put a Revo evaluation/test program on it, it worked, for the few hours that i had it.
I found it to be sluggish in the first gear upto 3000rpm, after 3000rpm it had nice kick. then switching to 2nd , it was nice while it pulled.
What i disliked was the harsh switching and Lag between gears.
Plus when you are cruising on the hwy and u need to pass someone, u give it some gas and the tranny downshifts Unnecessairly. Meanwhile if it was a standard tranny, it would just use the torque and speed up.

Re: Tiptronic chips.......
A Tip Chip (not an engine ECU chip) typically reduces transmission shift times from 1 full sec to approx 0.2 sec. Crisper shifts are observed and trans fluid is heated less during the shift because the shift is happening faster, altho said to be slightly harder on the clutch paks.
With significantly increased engine power, Tip Chip becomes more of a need than a want. Stock TCU is "torqued" for stock power, increased engine torque causes stock Tip TCU to frequently gear hunt with part throttle fluctuations and shifts feel somewhat mushy.
GIAC makes a great Tip Chip. I'm curious to know if there are other mfgs.

Re: Tiptronic chips.......
Holy thread resurection Batman. I solved my Tiptronic problem by getting a Triptronic with the S mode. It has the control that I found lacking in the previous Tiptronics and shifts much better............

Re: Tiptronic chips.......
I got my tip chip done by InMotion tuning and I can feel the quicker shifting in all modes: S D and Tip.
Much more aggressive and shorter gears (compared to before)
Also InMotion are half the price as other brands out there.
