Starting/RPM problem

my car only idles when i start it in the morning and when i drive it its fine till i stop at a light then the car starts to idle below 1000 rpm.. somtimes it rises to about 1500 rmp and drops back down....

so you think i should start with changing my fuel filter?

i called the dealer they said i dont have a PCV valve?

what else should i chamge??

my cars is a 2003 audi a4 1.8t

When the fuel filter gets too clogged up, the fuel pump is working extra hard and that's how they go, replace the fuel filter every 20,000k, if you are getting 10km/litre, that means the fuel filter has to filter 200,000 litres of gas.

I think that's just the fan kicking in, it should be normal unless it hops up and down very often
