Default Newbie Question

Hi I am thinking of purchasing a 1997 Audi A4 1.8t automatic. Really low miles and good condition and good price so thats why I think I am going to get it.

I was thinking of doing minimal mods to make the car look good and sound good - body kit, intake, chip, and exhaust. Would those give me just as much hp gain as a manual? Roughly how much hp gain will it give the car?

The car is not tiptronic, it is worth it? (not looking to race etc, just make it look and sound awesome)

Thanks!!

Depends. Those cheep chips on internet, you know, $30, $50, $90 or so; they're most likely garbage. Go with known chip installers or software upgrades from reputable tuners. Try H2Sport and Pfaff Tuning. There's another one in GTA that people here rave about as well but I forgot the name. Be prepared to spend several hundred dollars for proper upgrade. I'm doing my engine ECU and Transmission software upgrades - totalling $900 or so. I hope to get a total of about 25-30 hp improvement. I'm also changing air filter to a K&R which should get me another 5 hp. If they can upgrade air intake, that could get you better sound and some hp at same time. I'm limited on my air intake so a filter is my only option there. Good luck
