Default My new DV's

Hey guys, i just installed my 2 Dv's on my S4, one of the originals was faulty so i just replaced them both, with 2 used dv's, theyre in good condition, i opened them up and cleaned them out, and put some synthetic grease inside, and installed them. They looks purdy.
SHould i do anything else? i mean i dont really hear any difference, perhaps cuz my turbo's are blown, but should i worry about the spring that's in them or anything? i got no chip or anything. it's a silver spring.
my car should be heading to the mechanic within the week, i just wanted to have them installed so i'm not paying someone to install it.

Hi,

I would not worry about the springs too much, but you might want to check if They are Hyperboost ajustable or normal (last part in the link). And for the sound, I assume it's normal if you don't hear a difference. You might be talking about the "psshhh" sound a BOV makes.

cheers!

Just to reiterate: in an AUDI the "psshhh" sound is not good: BOVs (Blow OUT Valves): BAAAAAAAAAD... DVs (Diverter Valves) GOOOOOOOOOOOD!

For more info on the subject this forum has great posts!!!

The DV makes the exact same sound! you just need a better intake and you can hear it a hell of a lot better! W/ stock cant hear $hit.....

Ummmmmmm NO!!! I know guys that have installed BOV in their Audi and it works fine and its great! Obviously it does not sound like you guys know much about the difference on how you can actually hook up a BOV vs DV and what is good and what is bad. Also what mods you do depends on what you wanna run between the BOV vs DV. So please read the other post that I have posted and then give suggestions. As for the spring you might want to check into it depending what that springs pressure rating is for and if it needs to be stronger or weaker. If you are runing at stock (for an A4 dont know about the S4's) 8-9PSI there is no sence to have a stronger spring as it will not circulate then. Obviously you knew this. As for the DV's yes they do look cool. Who makes them? Suprised you didnt go with a Forge007....Nice car by the way

I didnt go with the 007's cuz i got these and an LLtek intake for 300. I just need to order a filter cone. I really do like them. i can hear them working, so i'm guessing the spring is ok, even with broken turbos. I hope to get everything fixed soon! it's warming up, and i smell a meet comming!

I would not install a BOV on the 2.7T as all intake air is metered and designed to be closed loop. Dumping any amount of air, including just enough to get a psshhh sound but not throw a CEL is not healthy for the engine and exhaust cats due to periodic rich A/F mix.
