Muffler Removal !!!
Hello there,
I have heard of people removing their mufflers on the B7 models and just putting a straight pipe. Has anyone else heard of this and my question was about performance. I would think that be doing this you would loose some back pressure hence loosing performance. Mind you it sounds really nice and beefy since there is no muffler damping the sound. I have heard this specially on a B7 S4 and sounded very strong, but i think i bit too strong on that car.
Could anyone provide some input on this.
Thank you

Re: Muffler Removal !!!
I think you're thinking of a test pipe. People remove the cat and put a test pipe/straight pipe in it's place right after the turbo. They're not that expensive and I heard they free up a lot of power. The only reason most people don't do it is because of emissions and legal problems. Also they kinda make your car sound almost like a Honda.

No i actually mean making a straight pipe right after the cat and the resonator so basically removing only the muffler itself. You would do this by buying a sleeve and placing it after the cat and resonator without any welding at all wich makes it easier if you want to put the muffler back on.
