So yeah, like I said at first, 245 is fine.

If you roll your fenders, you can lower it even more.

But 235 tires would fit better with 8.5" wide wheels.

Ok, well, I'm not speaking ''in theory'' here, I'm telling you my tires rubbed in the back when lowered more than this, and this was a month ago. Next time you're in Montreal come check it out for yourself. I'm running 18s not 17s and my offset is -35. KWs are very stiff too, so if a hard dip because of a manhole made the rear tires rub in the quarter panel, it's cause the tires are too wide to go any lower. I'm not going to give a guy advice that goes against my own personal experience.

Had I known, I would have opted for 235s.

Bottom line: If you aren't lowering your car, more than mine then you'll be fine, but forget rolling the rear fender, it has no lip.

s1nstar: Do your tires rub at all, like in a hard corner?

Yeah, like I said at first, his size is the "same as the overall size of my 235/45/17, and I had some serious rubbing issus at my ride height." But of course that's just because my car lower than yours, I have no way to fit 245's in with my current ride height. If you don't go real low, you would be fine on 235 tires without rolling fenders.

I said I can run 245 just to show that it is possible, but like I said, you need to do some work on your fenders. I rolled them, cut the wheel liners, and also pulled the fenders out a little (both F&R). These all require quite bit of work and skill, that's why I didn't recommand to run 245 on A4's. I've been saying that 245 would run if you do nothing. Even I rolled and pulled my fenders, my car would rub if I use 8.5" wheels. So I showed how tight it is. I don't know what you're trying to say, as we both are saying that 245 would rub without rolling the fenders. We both agree that 245 would rub in theory and in realistic, so I don't know.



Other than this, if want to measure the clearance, you don't look at the diameter of the wheel, so 18" or 17" wheels isn't the main effect. You need to look at the overall diameter of the tire, plus the offset and the width of the wheel. Thin tire on 18" wheel can have the same diameter as thick tire on 17" wheel. Wide tire on narrow wheel can have the same width as narrow tire on wide wheel. So there is no point of saying you're running 18s not 17s. 17" or 18" only shows the tire and wheel ratio you're running, but not the size. And it is the size that affect how much you rub.

I have 235/35/19's on my car with 19x8.5 wheels with a 35mm offset. It is dropped with H&R Coilovers and it did rub in the front over potholes and when cornering. I rolled the fenders myself and now it's great. You never get rubbing in the back as there is no fender lip and once I rolled the front (baseball bat and a heat gun!) I can take a full load of passengers no problem. I tried to attach a picture but I'm new to the site!!

hey folks new to the site i have a question becuase it has remained unanswered for a long time i have a 1993 audi 90s that needs to be lowered but springs seem to be non existant for it please let me know if you have a source.
